How To Use Yoga In Your Weight Loss For Great Results

By Jed Baguio Yoga can be put to good use for taking off excess pounds through the power of creating a state of mental and physical well being. Promoting a healthy lifestyle and when combined with a calorie reduction can help to speed up your weight loss is the basic tenets of Yoga. It also increases your metabolism by increasing the caloric burning process. Using more calories than you take in is all the basis of weight loss. It will allow you to increase your ability to concentrate and focus. What regulates your metabolism is your thyroid. Thyroid is responsible for the chemical processes that transform food into energy. A series of twisting poses are used in Yoga to help you to stimulate the work flow of the internal organs. This will cause your metabolism to increase. This can also burn more calories which will eventually cause you to have a lower body weight. Another side effect is that it will help to improve your circulation and increase your energy level. Helping to stimulate the metabolism is combining the various back bends with the forward bends. The poses that affect the neck region can be helpful in stimulating the thyroid if the weight problem is caused by a hormonal imbalance. Camel, rabbit, plow, bridge and head stand are the poses that will help the most. Going quickly between the various poses can help to accelerate the weight loss. You should beware though that those seriously overweight may find some of these poses extremely difficult and should start slowly with the easier poses and add others as they become more confident in the easier ones. To increase muscle strengthening, you can use standing poses such as the warrior. These will help to create higher endurance. These can also increase your caloric usage. What is best with all Yoga practices is a gradual approach. The long term effects on your weight loss regime will become evident and even more so the inner peace and general well feeling that Yoga will promote within you. Marketing to the Affluent – with Wine

By Leon Altman With its association to an affluent, sophisticated lifestyle, wine can make a good accompaniment when marketing to an affluent audience. However, I am not talking here about ordering expensive wine at a client diner. Wine can be used more creatively and productively to connect to this target audience. For example, wine proved to be a powerful marketing element for a startup magazine targeting an audience that is personally affluent and controls an enormous amount of money. BuySide magazine is a publication for institutional investors and money managers. When it was first conceived, it had to overcome what seemed to be a big drawback. Its founder, Gordon Holmes, lived in Sonoma, California, and insisted that the magazine be based near his home, far away from both the financial and media centers in New York. In discussions with Holmes, I discovered that Holmes insistence on basing his operations in Sonoma was not just a whim or a wish to have a short commute to work. It turns out that five generations of his family had been involved in California agriculture and he was passionate about California wine and wine-growing. I made a decision to turn BuySides remoteness from financial and media centers of action into a positive. His location in California’s wine country would become part of the magazines positioning. The first step was to create a private label BuySide Wine. In a deal with local wineries, we were able to source a sufficient amount of BuySide Merlot and Chardonnay. A special wine bottle label was designed to reflect the unique story of this boutique wine. Next, a direct mail campaign was developed using wine as a theme and Buyside wine as a premium. The campaign was aimed at advertisers and companies that wanted to reach the magazines audience of institutional investors. The chief element of the direct mail campaign was a brochure. The reader was immediately confronted with a stark, bold headline on the front of the brochure: “WHERE DO YOU GO TO TALK TO INVESTORS WITH $TRILLIONS TO INVEST? When the brochure was opened, the inside headline provided the answer: “TO THE WINE COUNTRY On the left side of the inside page, we developed a fanciful photo that conveyed the message we wanted: In the photo, Holmes was wearing a suit and holding a cellphone, sitting at a desk which had a computer on top of it, in the middle of a winery. Next to the desk was a street sign that said Wall Street. The other side of the page told the story of Buyside and how it reached this affluent, influential audience of institutional investors. The copy also directed readers to an offer in the back. As part of the offer, companies that responded to the mailing would receive a free bottle of BuySide winewhite or red. The mailing and promotion powered the magazine to success far ahead of schedule. But wine proved to be more than a launching pad in a direct mail campaign. It became part of the magazines positioning, separating it from the competition. The wine angle proved powerful for years to come. At money management conferences, where wine was given out at BuySides booth, people would come into the conference and ask Where are the wine guys? Everyone knew what they meant. While developing a private label wine may not be for everyone, there are other ways to use wine creatively in affluent marketing. Wine tastings, and food and wine get-togethers have been used successfully by professionals seeking to market their services to an affluent audience. But like wine itself, it takes taste and sophistication to make it work. Leon Altman is a marketing consltant, coach and copywriter. Fast Loans

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Max_Bellamy]Max Bellamy Modern life is fast-paced and things happen within the blink of an eye. You can never predict when you desperately need money. Consumerism is another factor that pulls you to draw money from various sources for instant gratification. Fast loans help you to manage these immediate financial requirements. But remember, even though fast loans gratify your immediate money requirements, there are lots of disadvantages to them. You should also take into consideration these disadvantages before opting for the loan. There is always a risk of either losing your hard-earned money through high interest rates, or losing your valuables, like your home if it is a mortgage loan, or your ring or computer in a pawn shop. So the advice is that go for the fast loan only if you are desperately in need of it. The fast loan is also a trap. Just think what would happen if you fail to repay the amount for some reason. Just think about the tension that you feel personally and at the legal battles. But sometimes you have no other choice. Go for the one that has a comparatively low rate of interest or flexible repayment terms. A fast loan from a cash advance store is not advisable at this juncture, because you have to repay it within two weeks. Go for other options. Loans from online lenders are pretty good choices, as there are a lot of online fast cash lenders. The other fast loans are the title loan, the pawnshop and the secured loan. Whenever you go for these loans just evaluate the comparative merits and demerits. Automotive Financing – Benefits To Applying Online

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Carrie_Reeder]Carrie Reeder You can do everything else online, why not acquire an auto loan as well? Some people are hesitant to use the internet for financial transactions or decisions. They don’t realize that online auto loans actually have significant advantages to standard auto loans. There are several benefits of applying online for an auto loan. Lower interest rate There are several places where one can get a loan. You can get a car loan from the dealership, bank/credit union, home equity, and online. The online resource typically will have the lowest interest rates of all methods. There are even sites in which auto lenders will compete for your business. This creates much lower interest rates than you could ever imagine at a bank or dealership. No Additional Fees Another advantage of an online automotive loan application is the absence of extra fees. You do not have to pay an application fee to apply online. You also will not fine any hidden finance fees for new vehicles when applying online. Not only is it cost effective for you to get an auto loan online, but it is cost effective for the lender as well. Payment calculator Using the internet provides a significant advantage of loan awareness. Many online lenders have car loan payment calculators right on their sites. This encourages borrowers to be educated on what an interest rate means to their payment, or how a loan duration can affect the total amount paid, etc. Loan payment calculators allow you as the borrower to know how much you can afford to borrow before even applying. Convenience Convenience is possibly the biggest benefit of applying online for an automobile loan. You can sit in the comfort of your own home while you compare and apply for various loans. The approvals are also very quick. During business hours, online auto loans can be approved within an hour of application. The online marketplace has become the place to shop for auto loans. Various benefits including low interest rates, no additional fees, payment calculators, and convenience, have people flocking to these online. Are You Too Attached?

By Kate Thompson So you love your partner to an alarmingly amorous degree and wonder if your smothering may be putting a damper on the whole healthy relationship quotient. You should start by asking yourself whether you consider your behavior to be beneficial to your partnership. Be brave: Ask your partner if they need a little space and don’t take offense if they do. Being in a relationship doesn’t mean that you have to do everything together, make sure to have your own friends and hobbies outside of the relationship. Always make time for yourself to avoid losing your identity in a relationship. Set aside one day of the month to actively spend time solely with yourself, either spend that day at a spa or take in a dinner and movie. You should also spend one evening a week of quality time with your family or friends. Try not to blur the lines between attachment and possessiveness. It’s completely unhealthy to believe that you own someone and can control what they do or who they spend time with. If you find yourself counting the seconds until your love comes home or check in on him/her a gazillion times a day through e-mail or by phone, then yeah, you might be too attached. If you can’t bear to be without your partner then you may want to analyze your feelings about trust and abandonment. Discuss those feelings candidly with your partner so they can understand where you’re coming from and give you the reassurance you need. Fresh, fun and flirty advice on dating and relating. Large Container Water Gardening

By Mary Hanna To start a water garden there are a few things that are essential. You will need a container that will hold enough water to sustain your plants and maybe some fish and at least six hours of sun each day. Not so long ago water gardening was restricted to ponds or large bodies of water. Even if you live in an apartment you are able to have and enjoy a water garden. Water gardening is different from your normal gardens. They have different needs but as long as you cater to these needs you will be surprised at some of the places you can have a water garden. To start a water garden you will need a large container that will hold 15 to 20 gallons of water. You must also know how deep each plant needs to sit in the water. Find out from your local nursery center how deep each plant needs to be placed in your container. You can also find this information online. Be very careful of filling your container with tap water. Many communities use chemicals in the water system to make it potable. If there is high chlorine count in the water you use, it will probably kill your plants. If you are going to use tap water, fill the container two days before you place any plants in it so that the chlorine can burn off. There are three basic kinds of plants for water gardening. There are plants that only grow above the water line while others grow beneath the surface of the water. And then there plants that are called “floaters” because they seem to float on the surface. You will need to know the care and needs of the plants before you will know which varieties to plant. It will also depend on the size of your container. Consider some fish or snails for your water garden. A small container will accommodate guppies because they will tolerate various temperatures. The benefit of guppies is that they eat mosquitoes who will be tempted by the water. If you are using a large container buy one or two goldfish. Place some snails in your container garden to eat the decaying plant matter and fish waste. They are kind of like the vacuum cleaner of the water garden. The snails will not be sufficient to keep your garden clean and fresh. In order to have a successful water garden you must have some kind of fresh water supply. You must plan on how often and how easily the water garden can be cleaned and stocked with fresh water. Buy a small submersible pump to keep the water moving and avoid stagnation. Place the pump in a nylon stocking before putting it in the water garden. The nylon will keep small particles from entering the pump and befouling it. This is a crucial step. If you have to fish out the pump to clean it out, it will foul the water. You may want to buy a sprouting ornament and place it on the rime of the container. Attach it to the pump with rubber tubing. This will add depth and texture to your water garden. If you follow these tips for your water garden you will have a successful and pretty project. Dry Eyes

By Richard Romando The eye is a vital organ that converts the reflected light from an object into neuron signals and feed them to the brain for processing and identification of the object. The eyes can suffer from various conditions such as myopia, hyperopia, conjunctivitis, cataract, astigmatism, glaucoma, sty, infection and tumors. The eyelids blink several times a minute to clean the eyes and keep them moist, using the secretion of tears from the lacrimal gland. The lids also have a fast reflex action to protect the eyes. Tears serve an important function in the health of the eyes. They wash off dust, chemicals, germs and other foreign bodies. They control the microorganisms in the eyes with their enzymes. In a condition called dry eyes, the tear gland does not secrete enough tears, or the quality of the liquid is poor and evaporates very fast. Normally the tears form three layers over the eye. The lacrimal glands produce water, and the small glands produce oil and mucus. The bottom mucus layer covers the cornea, and over it is the water layer with some nutrients. The outer oil layer prevents the water from evaporating. Dry eyes are one of the old age problems, where not enough oil is produced. Some medications cause this problem. Hot, dry and windy weather can also lead to this problem. Menopause, thyroid conditions and vitamin A deficiency can also cause it. The person with dry eyes has itching, burning, irritation, blurred vision, discomfort and redness of the eyes. Surprisingly, there may be more tears secreted. Treatment for dry eyes is planned only after finding the root cause of the problem. For old people with no specific problem, artificial tears two to three times a day and an ointment during the night can take care of the problem. The passage from the eyes to the nose, which normally drains the tears, can be plugged to keep enough tears in the eyes. Dry eyes, if left untreated, can cause more severe problems for the eye. Drinking plenty of water, taking the eyes off of paperwork or the computer periodically, and blinking the eyelids deliberately are some of the ways we can assist our eyes. Eyes provides detailed information on Eyes, Dry Eyes, Red Eyes, Puffy Eyes and more. Eyes is affiliated with Eyeglass Lenses. Stay in Touch with Leads and Get More Closes

By Joy Gendusa How many leads have come into your business since the beginning of time that never closed? That is a salient question. Who knows how many, but I bet there are a lot. Whether a small company or a large one with a sales force, the leads that are always best are the ones that are easy to close. But what about the prospects that were reached but never closed? They are in an abyss – The Unclosed Sales Lead Abyss, technically speaking. What are you doing to follow up? Are you following up? Do you have a fixed idea in mind about some time frame that those leads then become dead? What does it cost you to get that lead? Lets look at a hypothetical analysis: Postcard marketing experts will tell you to send out 5000 postcards. It costs you $2000.00 to send out those postcards. Say you do that and you get 50 calls; That is $40.00 per lead. The Return On Investment (ROI) of this example is as follows You make $2000.00 off of every close. You close 20% out of those 50 calls (10 sales). You made $10, 000 less the 2Gs for the postcards = $8000.00. That is decent Return On Investment (ROI), but what about the 40 leads that never closed? That is $1600.00 sitting out there on table, spent with no return. Now ask yourself, how many of your leads dont close per month? Take that theoretical situation and multiply $1600 by the other 11 months. That is a chunk of change that you are basically blowing. Dont get discouraged. Getting educated in marketing and determining your ROI is a major step in the right direction. Great ROI is what you should be going for, but dont stop there. There is more to sniff out. So, what are you doing to get all of those that initially reached for your product or service? How many phone calls do you make before you decide that a lead is unclosable zero, two, three? Did you leave a message on their voice mail and they didnt call back so you dropped them? Most likely a one-man-band or a two to three-person operation is working harder than a sales force in following up on their leads. How many in a sales force are simply cherry picking their leads, so to speak, and not closing or following up with the rest? How many of these dropped leads do you have built up? Can you see the waste? You need to follow up. Even if you didnt get the ROI you anticipated or needed, you still need to follow up. But how? More specifically, what kind of campaign should you do to get even more ROI? Good question. Heres the answer. First of all, realize that these prospects reached for you, your product or service and you CAN rehabilitate that initial interest. They are much easier to close and more valuable than someone who has never shown interest in your product or service before. Build on that. You dont now have to send out a mass mailing of postcards again to revitalize their interest were only talking about 20 to 100 leads that need to be followed up with a catchy message each month. Yes, they responded to a postcard (if that is what was sent) and will respond again if it is the right communication. The same postcard may work, but what you are trying to do is send repeat communication to those initial reachers and word it in such a way that they will want to reach again. Send a direct mail postcard or an email or both follow up with repeat mailings to that small cluster of people that is a different, more personal communication than what got them to reach the first time. What would that message be? When you get calls off of your initial mailing, get as much information as possible cull the data. Have you ever heard of Database Marketing or CRM (Customer Relationship Management)? This means getting data about each one of those customers/leads and putting them in a database. What is it that you need to find out? All kinds of things, such as, but not limited to: 1. How they found out about you in first place? 2. What kind of product they are looking for? 3. Do they have a deadline for that need? (This tells you how hot they are as a lead.) 4. What is going to cause them to purchase or not purchase? Ask!! 5. What makes them want to do business with someone or not? Again ask! You can find out all of this information while talking to the person on the phone when that person first calls. The more interested you are in that lead the more they will like you and will want to do business with you. It is not how interesting you are or how low your price is, or how great your company is it is how much you actually are interested in them. Your initial closing percentage will actually go up and likewise you will have simple information that can be put into a data base (or a simple Excel spreadsheet) about your leads and youll be able to find out what is the common denominator about those people. Then do a communication to those people based on those common factors. By the way this is what the big companies are doing, they already know about this. If you want to get big do what the postcard marketing experts are saying and doing. Take the information that you gathered and send out tiny little mailings. These particular mailings are for different segments of the people that have already reached for your product or service; the message is based on what they have told you. Wouldnt it be great if it was really easy to send out a full-color glossy postcard that was specific to that one customer, all from your own computer? Where are you going to get beautiful postcards that have variable data and can get your small mailing out? Usually you have to send out the same piece and order a large quantity companies have minimums. The reason why they have minimums is because that is the way it is cost effective to sell to you. At this juncture, though, you want to get your mailing out more inexpensively and still get results. Variable Data is data that is printed on a postcard that is variable it changes from postcard to postcard and can be taken from any database. What if you could put that on the front of a full-color glossy postcard and not have to type a specific letter? Like John Murphy, it is time for your dental cleaning or John Murphy, how about that pair of sunglasses you wanted? or of youre doing mortgages, John Murphy what about refinancing that house for Johnny Jr.s college tuition? On the back of the postcard, you could say: Dear John, I understand that you were interested in product for the purpose of purpose. (It is in the database fill it in.) Call me if I can help you make a decision. Sincerely, Your name, Your number and information You can find companies that do this. Research on the internet and look for companies that allow you to stay in touch with variable data postcards. Research well and make sure they are going to do a good job for you. Get referrals, check samples will they give you a chance to try out the product and see their turn-around time? A final tip is that different people need different amounts of communication. When postcard marketing experts tell you to hit your target list of 5000 postcards over and over again, the reason why some call after just the first time and some others call after the second time and others call after the 5th time, etc., is because people move at different speeds in life and in business. Now, with those that have called in you have closes that are slam dunks, but others operate differently when it comes to closing. So dont just waste those leads. Consistently put out your communication in the same way you did with your initial mailings, but with a more personalized message. That is Database Marketing. That is how you get people to buy from you after they have reached by following up with them enough. Put in your calendar to make three different follow up phone calls; if you get voice mail then leave a message that really communicates to them. Send a variable data postcard, send an email, but stay in touch. You will be glad you did in fact youll be smiling all the way to the bank. Infringement Nightmare – Morals to the Story

By Carolyn Wright True Story: A photographer recently settled for $275,000 with the Dallas Cowboys after the Cowboys used one of his pictures on clothing and other merchandise without permission. But after the settlement was reached, the Cowboys barred the photographer from ever working in Texas Stadium where the Cowboys play. The photographer had given a digital file of a photograph to the Cowboys who considered it for use on season tickets. The Cowboys then bought only 250 copies to resell as prints to the public. Later, the Cowboys used the same image on clothing and other items, without getting permission from the photographer for the additional usage. The photographer had not registered his photo with the U.S. Copyright Office. When the photographer discovered the infringements and inquired about it, the Cowboys offered him $1,000 in merchandise gift certificates. After trying to negotiate a settlement on his own for about a year, he hired a lawyer. Three years later, a settlement was reached. Morals of the story: -Many infringements come from uses beyond that agreed to. The infringements can come from uses on different products, for longer terms, in extra forms such as print or electronic, in other locations, etc. -Watch your clients use of your work closely. -Register your images with the U.S. Copyright Office before you give, or within three months of giving, them to a client. -Even if you havent registered your photographs with the U.S. Copyright Office, you are entitled to actual damages from infringements. They can be hard to prove, but sometimes they can add up to substantial sums. -While you may be a good negotiator, it can help to have a lawyer to give weight to your position. -If you have to sue a client, you probably wont get work from that client again. -Legal matters can take time; be patient for your rewards.
